This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by OCTOPUZ, its affiliates and subsidiaries when you communicate with us (which may include emails, fax, responding to our campaigns, completing surveys, or other means); purchase or use our products and services; access technical support; visit our websites, Community forums and social media pages that we control; submit a resume or job application; or provide your information through our offline interactions.

OCTOPUZ will collect only information that is necessary and suitable for our business purposes which may include product purchase, registration, authentication, usage and anti-piracy auditing and enforcement, or analytics. For example, as a customer if you purchase an OCTOPUZ product, we may require you to disclose your name, address, and your credit card details, to obtain payment for that purchase.
Personal information we may typically collect includes your: user name, password, first and last name, company name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address and payment data (e.g. credit card) when products or services are purchased.
Refer to the current version of the OCTOPUZ End User License Agreement ("EULA") posted on our website for important terms related to your use of OCTOPUZ software. As detailed in the EULA, we may automatically collect additional information through analytics in our software including but not limited to IP address and/or the software version, functionality used, and duration of software usage. Refer to section 4 below "Automatically Collected Information" for further details.
We will use reasonable commercial efforts to inform you before or at the time of collection which personal information we will collect and how we intend to use it, so you can make an informed decision about whether to provide your personal information. However, if you choose not to provide the information, we may not be able to proceed with your request or provide certain products and services.

The forums we host and social media pages we control facilitate the open dialogue and knowledge sharing between current and potential users of our products and services and allow us to communicate company and product information. When you submit a resume or application for employment to OCTOPUZ, we obtain your personal information. We may only use this information to evaluate and/or contact you about potential current and/or future employment opportunities with us.
We may obtain your personal contact information from publicly available databases or similar sources for the purposes of business development or building a job applicant pipeline to fill current or future employment opportunities. We are committed to accessing only publicly available information from responsible providers whose privacy policy and practices demonstrate that your information has been collected and shared with your consent, and that at the time we access your information that your consent has not been withdrawn. We will never buy or sell our contact or email lists.
We may obtain your personal information when we meet through offline interactions that may include attendance at industry events, conferences, tradeshows, networking meetings, receiving referrals, etc.

Information you provide upon purchase, implementation and/or use of an OCTOPUZ product or activation of a license will be used to (i) keep a record of your product or license, (ii) authenticate and periodically verify your licensing rights in the product for anti-piracy purposes, (iii) assist OCTOPUZ in providing support to you when you contact OCTOPUZ sales/technical support departments, (iv) identify if new product updates are available prior to sending you a notice to install the new product update and (v) inform you of any upgrades, new products, promotions or other information that may be of interest to you. By purchasing/implementing or using an OCTOPUZ product or activating a license, you are consenting to us collecting and using your personal and other information for the purposes of fulfilling our business activities.
Generally, our OCTOPUZ technical support team can obtain customer contact information via the registration data it maintains in its customer databases, or those of our suppliers. OCTOPUZ may use this contact information to respond to support inquiries and/or to request additional information from the customer. If we need to collect files and/or other information, we will use this for the purposes of diagnosing and resolving your technical problem.
We may use the information you provide to us through our website/Community forums to communicate with you, provide access to the products and services you request, analyze data and identify trends that we may use for product improvements and marketing purposes.

If we establish an employment relationship, we will further use your personal information, and collect any additional personal data necessary for Human Resources Administrative reasons in fulfilling our employment relationship obligations.

Automatic Information collected by OCTOPUZ may be used for statistical and marketing purposes. We may also use it to assist us in arranging relevant advertising, commercial opportunities and competitions. Automatic Information we collect may also help us to develop our website and audit its use. For example, from time to time we may also utilize services such as Google Analytics to analyze trends and site traffic to help us to align eblasts, improve our website etc.
By using OCTOPUZ software, information may also be collected automatically, as real-time events occur, through the data analytics incorporated into the software. OCTOPUZ endeavours to ensure that any information collected through data analytics is aggregated and genericized to exclude any unique identifiable attributes.
Information automatically collected through data analytics will be used to, among other things, improve software performance, improve user experience or identify actual usage of certain software functionality.

OCTOPUZ may not always be able to diagnose and solve your technical issues. Some third party software that interoperates with the OCTOPUZ software, such as an operating system software, may request data from your system to assist it in diagnosing issues. You may be informed of the need for this information and we strongly recommend that you review the Privacy Policy of the software provider before you choose whether to provide your information to the third party. The third party software provider is the one responsible for any privacy issues related to the information you provide to them.
We occasionally hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, such as processing transactions, including credit card transactions, handling the processing and delivery of mailings, providing customer support, hosting websites, collecting, storing or removing your information, or performing statistical analysis of our products or services.
