OCTOPUZ mills the Stanley Cup® using a KUKA KR Agilus robot equipped with a PushCorp, Inc. SM2002 Spindle. The paths for the Stanley Cup® were modelled in Mastercam which were then imported into OCTOPUZ where the PathFinder suite of tools automatically analyzed the toolpaths and solved for any errors along each path. Once all errors were solved, the stock was set up, the robot’s position was calibrated, and the milling process began. By leveraging the latest features in OCTOPUZ, programming time was significantly reduced. The toolpaths were simulated and verified in OCTOPUZ and the code was posted directly to the KUKA robot.
