OCTOPUZ is proud to be able to support KUKA’s new 7-Axis LBR IIWA robot.
As one of the only offline programming software solutions in the world capable of running this robot with the accompanying KUKA Sunrise Controller, we wanted to demonstrate how all of its seven axes can be used, on a part that a typical 6-axis robot could not reach. Allowing for an incredible amount of versatility and accuracy, OCTOPUZ is looking forward to programming the wide variety of applications that this new robot will be used for.

We had the chance to visit one of our customers, New Age Robotics, to see some of the sculpting work they’re doing with OCTOPUZ. When disruptive technologies are introduced to the marketplace, there is an initial uncertainty among the general population about these unfamiliar products, services, or new ways of conducting business.
The unknown is scary; change is often met with resistance, and people may ask themselves how such innovations will affect their livelihoods and lifestyles. By definition, disruptive technologies are innovations that create a new market and value network, ultimately displacing established market leaders, alliances, and the status quo. Historically, however, it’s been seen that as society becomes more educated, informed, and familiar with innovations such as e-mail, smartphones, and social networking, the acceptance and proven benefits begin to emerge as a result.
